On Tuesday morning, April 19th, a sign was placed on the front door of 521 E. 5th Street, saying "Danger: Hard Hat Area." The residents wrote to Harriet Croman of Croman real estate, asking if this indicated new activity that would be undertaken or if this was to acknowledge the ongoing dangerous nature of the complete gut remodel that has gone on for the last 14 months. A building manager wrote "Please be advised that the hard hat only applies to the construction workers in the building, not the tenants." We walk through dangerous construction dust and fumes on a daily basis. Our complaints to 311 and our lawmakers about the Cromans has not improved this situation.
